Made from crushed quartz and resin, quartz countertops offer a consistent look from slab to slab. That can make a big difference in larger kitchens, where the perimeter countertops, island, and full-height backsplash may require multiple slabs.

Slab Selection
Visit our Etobicoke showroom and view the actual slabs in person. Our extra-large samples give you a much better idea of the real colour, pattern, and veining; and how the material will look when it becomes your finished countertop.

On-Site Measuring
Every home is different. With decades of experience working in Ontario homes, condos, basements, and kitchens, our crew knows what to look for. Final measuring is more than dimensions, it’s experience, attention to detail, and knowing how everything comes together.

Reviewing the Details
We’ll go over your countertop project together and talk through the details—material, layout, edges, seams, overhangs, sink, cooktop, backsplash, and anything else that matters. We’ll make sure everything is clear before we move ahead.

Fabrication Starts
Now the stone goes into fabrication at our Etobicoke shop. We cut, shape, polish, and finish each piece based on what we measured. Sink cutouts, edges, seams, and all the little details are taken care of before everything is ready for installation.

Installation Day
The finished pieces are ready to go. Our experienced installation crew carefully brings everything into place, checks the fit, alignment, seams, and edges, and completes the final details on site. From custom fabrication to professional countertop installation, we make sure the finished result is exactly where it should be.

What You Should Know About Countertop Pricing
Per-Square-Foot Pricing Is the Easy Part
Don’t be fooled by a simple per-square-foot price. That number doesn’t tell the whole story of what your countertop will cost.
Material, slab size, cutouts, edge details, backsplashes, seams, and installation all play a role in the final price. Every kitchen is different, so the lowest price per square foot doesn’t always mean the lowest total cost.

Material
Two slabs can look almost the same and even have similar names, but their quality can be very different—and so can their price. Premium materials are made to offer better performance, consistency, and long-term durability.
If quality matters to you, choosing a better-grade material can help protect your investment over time. In construction, cheap doesn’t always mean a good deal. Repairs, replacements, and fixing problems later can cost much more than choosing the right material from the start.

Seam or No Seam
At Countertop Pro, we don’t believe quality means simply saying, “No seams.”
Slab size, countertop length, access to the kitchen, and transportation can all affect whether a seam is needed. In many cases, a seam may be unavoidable. What matters is how it’s done.
We carefully plan the slab layout, choose the best seam location, match the veining, and finish the seam properly making it as subtle as possible so the countertop looks and feels almost seamless.
A seam doesn’t mean a bad job. A bad seam does.

edge profile matters
A simple eased edge is usually straightforward, while mitered edges, double edge profiles, waterfall edges, and detailed profiles such as Ogee, Bullnose, and Double Ogee require additional fabrication time and labour.
Price isn’t just about how much stone you need—it’s also about the work, skill, and craftsmanship that go into turning that stone into a properly finished countertop.
An honest kitchen countertop quote should never be just a simple per-square-foot price.
A countertop professional should understand your kitchen size, layout, material selection, edge profile, sink, seams, backsplash, and installation requirements before giving you an accurate countertop price. If one countertop quote is significantly lower than the others, look behind the number. What’s included? What’s missing? A low price may look attractive at first, but the cheapest countertop quote doesn’t always mean the lowest overall cost.

Before You Schedule Templating
What Should Be Ready Before We Measure Your Countertops?
your base cabinets must be fully installed, level, and securely fastened to the walls. Upper cabinets should be installed if a backsplash or full-height backsplash is required.
Your sink and stove/cooktop should be selected and available for accurate cutout measurements. For a full-height backsplash, we also need to know the hood fan style and location.
Having these details ready helps us take accurate measurements and avoid costly changes during countertop fabrication.
Will My Kitchen Countertop or Island Have a Seam?
It depends on several factors, including slab size, countertop length, kitchen layout, access to the kitchen, and even your material selection and budget. In many cases, a seam may be unavoidable. What matters is how it’s done. At Countertop Pro, we don’t believe quality means simply saying, “No seams.”
A seam doesn’t mean a bad job. A bad seam does.
How Far Can a Countertop Overhang Without Support?
10–12 inches is the usual kitchen island overhang for seating without additional support.
Want a larger overhang? No problem—you’re working with a stone countertop specialist. Before we get you there, we need to make sure your cabinets are built to accommodate the overhang you want. A larger overhang can affect the countertop price, measurement, fabrication, and installation, so it’s important to plan it before templating.

Which Countertop Material Should I Choose for My Kitchen?
It really comes down to how you use your kitchen, your lifestyle, your style, and your budget. For most busy GTA families, quartz countertops are the easiest choice, low maintenance, no sealing, and lots of styles to choose from.
Want something truly natural and unique? Granite is a great choice, with a little more care. Porcelain is excellent for a modern showcase kitchen, but proper fabrication and support are especially important. Marble is for those who love the real thing and are comfortable with maintenance and its natural aging.
