Calacatta-Look Slab Kitchen Project on Mississauga Road
A high-impact kitchen slab installation combining a large waterfall island, full-height backsplash, coordinated perimeter countertops and a slab-clad hood enclosure within an active Mississauga Road renovation.
Coordinating a Statement Island, Slab Backsplash and Hood Enclosure
This Mississauga Road project carries one dramatic white-and-grey marble-look surface across several high-visibility applications. The same Calacatta-look design language appears on the large central island, perimeter work surfaces, full-height backsplash and cladding around the range-hood enclosure.
The island acts as the main visual centre of the room. Its broad horizontal surface displays the strongest grey vein movement, while the full-height exposed ends extend the slab appearance vertically toward the floor. Around the perimeter, lighter sections and concentrated grey movement continue the design without making every surface read identically.
The full-height backsplash required a separate layout strategy. Panels had to relate to the upper and lower cabinets, window openings, inside corners, electrical points and future appliance locations. The slab-clad hood enclosure added another vertical application with front, side and lower-edge conditions that needed to align with the surrounding wall treatment.
The photographs and walkthrough were recorded while the wider renovation remained active. Protective film, temporary supports, unfinished appliance openings and floor protection are visible. This page documents the installed countertop and slab-surface scope without claiming that Countertop Pro supplied the cabinets, lighting, framing, ventilation, electrical, plumbing or complete renovation.
Calacatta-Look Surfaces Across the Island, Walls and Hood
The gallery documents the installed slab applications while adjacent cabinetry, appliance openings and final finish work remained in progress. The photos show how horizontal and vertical surfaces were coordinated across the room without describing the material, brand or exact edge construction as confirmed facts.
Details That Shaped the Mississauga Road Slab Plan
Island Vein Direction
The island occupies the strongest sightline in the room, so the most prominent grey movement needed deliberate orientation before fabrication. The selected direction affects how the surface reads from the kitchen entrance, seating side and surrounding circulation areas.
Waterfall End Coordination
The island top and full-height exposed ends needed to be reviewed as related surfaces. Pattern direction, corner appearance, finished projection and visible side conditions all affect the result, even when the exact edge construction is not publicly identified.
Full-Height Backsplash Planning
The vertical panels had to fit around windows, upper cabinets, electrical openings, inside corners and future appliance locations. These conditions require final site information before fabrication because small opening changes can affect several connected panels.
Slab-Clad Hood Enclosure
Cladding the hood enclosure required front and side panel sizing, lower-edge planning and coordination with the backsplash below. The visible slab work does not imply responsibility for the enclosure framing, ventilation equipment or mechanical installation.

The walkthrough shows how the Calacatta-look pattern reads across the large island, full-height exposed ends, perimeter counters, wall panels and slab-clad hood enclosure. It also records the relationship between concentrated grey movement and quieter white areas across the different applications.
Protective coverings, temporary wood supports and unfinished appliance locations remain visible because the surrounding kitchen renovation was still underway when the footage was recorded.
Planning Multiple Slab Applications as One Kitchen System
The island, perimeter countertops, full-height backsplash and hood cladding could not be planned as unrelated pieces. Cabinet readiness, wall openings, window positions, electrical points, future fixtures and site access influenced the final slab layout and installation sequence.
This page documents the countertop and slab-surface package. It does not assign cabinet installation, lighting, electrical work, plumbing connections, ventilation equipment, drywall, framing, flooring or full renovation management to Countertop Pro.
